This is no joke! The Y’s 16th annual Spinathon returned to the Downtown Branch on Saturday, April 1st, 2023 [April Fool’s Day].
Here are some highlights:
- 6 Months of Planning
- 4 Hours of Spinning
- 1 Day
- 2 Gyms
- 18 Captains
- 195 Riders
- 50 Rockin’ Tunes Across the Decades
- 70 Pickleballers
- 12 Volunteers
- 546 Donors
- 2,925 Miles (An average of 15 miles x 195 riders)
Each year, the Spinathon helps support many of the Y’s community initiatives – including specialized programming for those facing chronic disease, subsidized memberships for neighbors in need, drowning prevention initiatives, and free meals for seniors facing food insecurity and isolation.
Together we raised: $52,703!
The Spinathon also supports the Y’s camp scholarship program. By offering financial assistance, the Y ensures that every child in our community has access to the life-changing experience of a Camp Finberg summer.
The collective contributions of our volunteers, riders, donors, staff, and community partners are a true testament to the words of Tom Vilsack:
“People working together in a strong community with a shared goal and a common purpose can make the impossible possible.”
We wish to thank all of our friends and community partners for their support and belief in the Y’s mission to strenthen our community. It is an honor and privilege to work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
