The Attleboro Norton Y has a thriving community of active older adults who make the Y and physical activity an important part of their healthy lifestyle. Our Y brings members of all ages together for group exercise classes, sports, social events, specialized programming, volunteer opportunities, and so much more.

Senior Meals

The Attleboro YMCA is proud to offer two free meals per week for seniors. The intent of this program is to support those seniors who struggle to have hot evening meals due to financial constraints, mobility constraints, health issues, and transportation issues.

Meals are available on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings. Register for a curbside pickup time slot or for at-home delivery. (For at-home delivery, meals will arrive 4:45-5:30 pm. At-home delivery only available to homes in Attleboro or Norton.) Please be sure to register each person who will need a meal, so we prepare the appropriate number of meals for you. Tai Chi for Seniors

Tai = big or great. Chi = ultimate energy. Tai Chi is an ancient form of Chinese exercise consisting of slow, beautiful, relaxed movements that develop a sense of balance and harmony between mind and body. Practicing tai chi can improve balance, stability, and flexibility for seniors.

We’re excited that Ed Poirier will now offer this great class to all senior members of the community at our new location – the Sweet Community House on Peck Street.

Creative Clay Class

Find your inner muse!

This two-day creative workshop is designed to boost self-awareness, improve self-esteem and self-confidence. It allows seniors the expression of their inner thoughts or feelings and to lift one’s mood. Kneading clay and creating clay art allows the individuals to exercise their hands and improve hand-eye coordination by stimulating neurological pathways from the brain to the hands. Clay art may aid in stress reduction and relaxation. It is also used in treating, anxiety, and depression as well as coping with disability or medical illness.

No artistic ability needed!

Dates: Thursday and Friday, July 29 & 30

Time: 12:30-2:30 PM

Fee: $10 for the 2-day workshop

Senior Sing-A-Longs

Join us in an acoustic sing-a-long the last Tuesday of each month starting in June at the Sweet Community House!

Ed Poirier will play all of the favorites of the 50s & 60s, songs from Motown, and more. Don’t remember the words? No worries! We will have them for you!

Come and join your friends! Music soothes the soul!

Senior Walking Group

Join your friends from the Y for some exercise, fresh air, and conversation!

The group will meet every Wednesday at Capron Park under the Newell Shelter and then head out for a stroll. People with walking aids are welcome! After the walk, feel free to relax and socialize with friends. Bring along your lunch if you like.

There is no cost to participate. We encourage participants to register so we can reach you in the event of inclement weather.

Senior Medicare Fitness & Membership

Did you know that your health insurance might pay for your YMCA membership?

If you have an eligible medicare plan, you may have access to a special senior medicare fitness program, which entitles you to all the services and privileges of a regular Y membership – at no cost to you!

To enroll in Senior Whole Health’s plan at the Y, please contact your insurance provider and confirm that you would like to use this benefit at the Attleboro Norton YMCA. They will provide you with the next steps to get started.

How to enroll in Renew Active:

To enroll in Renew Active at the Y, you will need to provide the Y’s Membership staff with your Renew Active Confirmation Code. To obtain your code, login to your UnitedHealthcare member website and go to Health & Wellness and look for Renew Active. For assistance, call the toll-free number on the back of your insurance membership card.
