Early Education & Care Programs

We love the way kids tick. We love the way they play, the way they think, and the way they react to the world around them. We consider it a great privilege every time parents choose the Attleboro Y to be their child care partner.

At the Y, preschoolers experience early literacy and learn about their world, and school-age kids make friends, learn new skills and do homework. But most importantly, children learn how to be their best selves. That makes for confident kids today, and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow.

Afterschool Care

Grades: K-6

We believe that childhood afternoons are meant for active play, new discoveries, and adventures of the imagination. This vision is what guides our School’s Out team as we develop the activity plan for each afternoon. We provide a safe, encouraging environment that promotes positive self-esteem, life skills, teamwork, leadership, creativity and education support.

Please note: The Y will follow all of the recommended guidelines to keep your children and our staff safe throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. This will require school-age children to wear masks when they cannot maintain a safe distance. This may also require a reduction in the number of children we can serve in our program. We will provide updated guidelines and requirements once we receive finalized plans from the schools.

Scholastic Support Center

With most local schools offering hybrid or fully remote learning plans, the Attleboro YMCA is here to help with your family’s remote days! To serve our community’s children and families through the 2020-2021 school year, the Attleboro YMCA has dedicated our Pleasant Street Branch as a Scholastic Support Center for students in grades K-8.

Our Scholastic Support Center staff members provide support and assistance so that children can access their online classes and complete their remote-learning assignments. However, our focus extends beyond the academics to provide encouragement, enrichment programs, and fun to support kids’ social-emotional well-being.

Our goal is to encourage kids to learn, play, make friends, and have fun – just as kids should – even during a challenging school year.

About the Program

The Scholastic Support Center is a place where students can go to complete their online and at-home coursework, while also participating in fun activities in a safe, supportive environment. Our Center offers a full day of programming from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, five days per week.

Each center is staffed by YMCA staff who can assist your child with their remote learning and schoolwork – while also making the day fun and exciting!

Our spaces are designed to comply with state and local guidelines for safety and social distancing. Students are grouped in small, consistent pods of students with similar schedules and grade levels to minimize contact.

When online school/remote learning is completed, students have time for homework or structured, age-appropriate academic enrichment activities, including:

  • Fitness and Nutrition
  • Swimming
  • Outdoor activities
  • Arts and Drama
  • STEM

Wi-Fi is provided to support video chats, streaming media and other online school demands. Each student should bring a device, headphones and appropriate school supplies. Please make sure your student knows how to log in to their school’s website and learning platforms and how to operate their devices and software.
