All-Star Sports

Ages: 3-5

This class introduces children to a wide range of sports including basketball, soccer, t-ball, and more! Each week introduces a new sport, as participants develop new skills, learn basic game rules, and begin to play as part of a team.

The Y’s “Eclectic Karate” program combines the strengths of various disciplines to emphasize self-defense, control, positive attitude and spirit. Year-round program.

Instructional Basketball

Ages: 5-11

The Y’s Youth Instructional Basketball program helps young players develop their skills through dribbling, passing, and shooting drills. While learning to play as part of a team, players continue to work on their skills through a series of scrimmages.

Youth Floor Hockey

Ages: 6-12

This class introduces participants to the basics of floor hockey including puck handling, shooting, and passing as well as basic game rules. Class time will be divided between drills and skills as well as a scrimmage. Recommended equipment: Stick and gloves. Required equipment: Mouth guard and sneakers.

Kids Triathlon Training

Ages: 6-14

This free 7-week program provides an amazing opportunity for kids to get ready to compete in their first triathlon! Through a unique partnership with YMCAs across New England, kids across the region are able to get expert instruction and gain the confidence and abilities necessary to become triathletes. The training consists of seven 1-hour sessions that focus on each of the four disciplines of the sport of triathlon: swim, bike, run, and transition.

Once the training is complete, participants can choose to participate in the New England Kids Triathlon at M.I.T. on July 16th. Participation in the triathlon is not required but encouraged.

Learn the basic skills of boxing while developing confidence, fitness, and discipline. Speed bag, heavy bag, and jump-roping are incorporated into the progressive training. Our instructors offer Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced level classes.

Drop-In Volleyball

Ages: 11-18

Looking to work on your skills and have some fun on the court? Staffed by a coach to provide tips for improvement, this drop-in program is a great way to learn a new sport or keep your skills sharp during the off-season. Stop by whenever you can!

Jaguars Youth Track & Field Program

Ages: 6-18

Under the direction of the YMCA’s Youth Wellness Specialist Ed Poirier and the Jaguars coaching staff, youth athletes participate in running, shot put, Javelin, long jump, and Cross Country. The program offers both parent and child fitness activities, including weekly fitness runs and walks. No mandatory practices or events. Come when you can!
