New for Fall 2017! The Y is offering a two-step progression to introduce you to strength training, instruct you on proper technique, and to help you develop an individualized program to help you meet your fitness goals. Participants have an opportunity to progress every four weeks.
Level 1 – Fundamentals of Functional Training
This on-going program is designed to provide guidance and instruction for those who are new to free weights. If you are a frequent Y HIT class participant or someone looking for a new style of training, this class is for you. At the start of the program, you’ll meet with a YMCA Strength Coach, discuss your goals, and undergo an assessment. The staff will then design an individualized program to help you reach your goals. Participate in a group training session once or twice a week in the designated hours.
Level 1 Class Times: SAT 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Level 2 – Proper Program Design
This on-going program is for those with some free weight exercise experience or for those who have completed at least four weeks of the Level 1 program. Through the guidance of our Strength Coaches, you will learn program design and how to improve your strength and overall fitness level over the long term. The Strength Coaches will help you design an individualized program to help you reach your goals. Participate in a group training session once or twice a week in the designated hours.
Level 2 Class Times: MON, WED, FRI 5:00-6:30 p.m.
Dates: Begins the week of September 11th
Location: Downtown Branch – Carpenter Gym
Monthly Fee: Y Member: $35 / Non-Member: $65
