On Monday, April 20th, longtime Y Member Emily Manion will run the Boston Marathon to support the Attleboro Y’s cause for strengthening the community.
Looking back on her Attleboro YMCA experience, from her first swim lesson at 6 months old through countless basketball games, summer camp, her first job as a Y referee, learning from her YMCA mentors, and now her return to marathon running after becoming a mom, Emily is excited to give back to the Y and the community that shaped so much of who she is today. She knows firsthand that the Y delivers impactful programs and services to help young people achieve their full potential and to empower people of all ages to lead healthier, happier lives.
As a lifelong swimmer, swim instructor, coach, and now a mom of a two-year-old swimmer in training, Emily is especially focused on raising funds to support swim lesson scholarships and the Y’s Safety Around Water program, a free program committed to teaching water safety and swimming skills to children throughout our community.
By donating in support of Emily 26.2-mile journey from Hopkinton to Boston, you help make that possible!
